Council decides to 'scale down' event
Douglas Carnival will be returning this year but with a few significant changes.
Douglas Borough Council members were divided over the decision to run the parade along Loch Promenade only, rather than the full length of the promenade as in previous years.
Andrew Bentley is lead member Regeneration and Community, he thinks scaling-down the event could give it more impact:

Consultation open on plans to formally recognise the heritage of Douglas Head
Drop-in session to support Isle of Man charities
Fundraiser to keep St John Ambulance emergency fleet on the road
Ayre and Michael MHKs request meeting with commissioners over rates
Data breach impact rises sharply as cyber incidents affect thousands on Isle of Man
