The new Manx Bard has been named.
Each year the Island’s most worthy poet is appointed as Manx Bard via an annual competition.
Boakesey Closs was selected as the ninth Manx Bard yesterday.
She was picked unanimously by the judges and succeeds Michael Manning.
Earlier this year, she appeared on BBC's Mastermind programme.
Organisers say: "Boakesey beat off an overwhelming amount of entries this year, of which, after long listing were shortlisted to only four in total.
"Our final judges were treated to an array of spectacular performances from all 4 shortlisted entries.
"However, Boakesey’s delivery of her own work, “Manannan’s Revenge” (The Ballad of Cammag) blew the judges away and together with many other magnificent attributes, clinched that well sought after, prestigious position of IXth Manx Bard!"
