The story is adapted from a traditional Manx tale
A new Manx language book designed both for individual reading and as a classroom resource has been published.
Yn Cliwe Macabuin has been translated into Manx Gaelic by former Bunscoill Ghaelgagh teacher and recent Reih Bleeaney Vanannan (RBV) recipient Annie Kissack.
It's aimed at older primary school children and explores the island's Viking heritage.
The story is adapted from a traditional tale found in Manx Fairy Tales by Sophia Morrison and follows the legend of a magical sword, which also inspired an original Bunscoill musical.
It's accompanied by artwork from illustrator Ryan Morrison.
Annie said: "I've always been aware of the need for more attractive Manx Gaelic reading resources.
"This book, with its vibrant illustrations, is a wonderful addition to our educational materials."
