It's hoped a new Manx short film will show that stories involving cancer can have a happy ending.
Dark Avenue Film has launched a kickstarter campaign to fund its latest project, Shutter Speed.
It's based on director Patrick Crellin's real-life experience as a child of going on 'holiday' with his mum to Liverpool while she underwent treatment.
Despite stats showing that half of those who get a cancer diagnosis live for at least another 10 years after treatment, the vast majority of movies don't show that side.
