Newly-elected members of the Legislative Council will be sworn in at a special ceremony in Douglas this morning (Tuesday) before joining Tynwald’s sitting.
At a public sitting at 10am, they’ll take their oaths to serve the Island and the Queen, before Tynwald sits at 10.30am.
But there’ll be no great surprises or bedding-in period as all three of the new members have served in the court before – either on Legislative Couincil, in the House of Keys or both.
Former MHK Phil Braidwood has been elected to the upper chamber for the first time, while Dudley Butt and Alex Downie retained the seats they had before the election.
