Manx Breast Cancer Support Group will refurbish the facility
It's hoped the new patient lounge at Liverpool John Lennon Airport will be even better than the last one.
Funded by the Manx Breast Cancer Support Group, since 2017, the facility is a place where those travelling to and from the UK for treatment can sit privately whilst waiting for their flights back to the Island.
Its future had been put in doubt by the airport's refurbishment plans but was saved days later following backlash from the public.
The existing space will close later this month and a temporary area provided until the new lounge, which will be adjacent to the new Aspire lounge, opens in May or June next year.
Julie Stokes is from the charity and says it's even going to get an upgrade now:
The Manx Breast Cancer Support Group will fund all furnishings for the permanent room when it is completed.
