20 week project sees bridge from 1938 replaced
Work on the new harbour bridge in Peel has been completed ahead of schedule, according to the Department of Infrastructure.
Following construction which began in October, the bridge is now fully accessible to both traffic and pedestrians.
Just over £400,000 was invested by the department to replace the 80-year-old timber structure which had reached the end of its usable life.
It now features a concrete deck and steel beams.
Taking to twitter, the DoI thanked the community for its patience.
