Application to refurbish hotel
The Mount Murray's new owners have submitted plans to redevelop the site.
Island-based Comis Holdings wants to renovate the complex to be re-opened as a hotel.
The structure was damaged extensively by a fire in November 2013.
Comis - which was incorporated specifically to buy out the Mount Murray last year - has received a provisional go-ahead from the government to begin work there.
The proposals are largely faithful to its original design, with alterations to increase energy efficiency and minimise maintenance bills.
There are also plans for improved fire protection measures.
It's understood Comis is preparing a further planning application, to be submitted in the coming weeks.
