King William’s College has appointed a new Principal
Dr Sarah Welch (pictured) will take charge in time for the start of the Autumn term in September this year.
She replaces Philip John, who is moving to Gresham’s School in Norfolk after eight years on the Island.
Dr Welch, whose subject is English, is currently Acting Head at Malvern College in Worcestershire.
Prior to her time there she held senior positions at two other independent schools in the United Kingdom, and at a school in Kenya.
She is highly experienced in the International Baccalaureate, which was introduced at King William’s College four years ago.
Dr Welch is married with four children . . her youngest son and daughter will become pupils at the College in September.
