
The Home Affairs Minister says the new prison at Jurby, which is now officially up and running, is another example of a job well done by government.
Adrian Earnshaw was speaking as the final inmates made the move from Victoria Road in Douglas to the £41 million pound northern facility.
It was a high security operation which took months of planning and involved more than 80 staff spread between the two sites.
Mr Earnshaw, who has only been in post since the start of this week, believes the new prison is another in a long-line of achievements for the Manx Government (audio file attached):
