Data gathered to see impact on health care services
A new weekly report has been created to monitor the levels of respiratory illnesses on the Island this winter.
Government has brought out the weekly report to look at the impact winter viruses have on the Isle of Man's health services.
It'll highlight the rates of respiratory illnesses including influenza and Covid-19, which usually peak during winter months.
The data gathered will not only be able to focus on the wider impact of the illnesses, but also raise awareness of them.
As well as this, government has also put together a winter planning workshop. This will keep an eye on seasonal increases in other conditions like norovirus, and cold weather accidents such as slips, trips, and falls.
They'll look at the situation both locally and globally to help them make decisions to minimise harm due to winter illnesses, offer people extra support, and mitigate against uncontrolled transmission of disease.
