Public service broadcaster launches schedule changes ahead of 60th birthday

Manx Radio insists creating a new station won't need any extra resources.

The public service broadcaster is making a number of changes to mark its 60th birthday.

There'll be a new schedule on FM, with a number of changes to the line up:

Chris Quirk starts the day with a new Breakfast Warm Up Show
Ben Hartley spearheads a new bigger Breakfast from 6-9am with Sian Cowper on news
With Marc Tyley retiring, Chris Williams moves to the all new Morning Show from 9am to midday
Beth Espey will now host Update which moves to 5pm
Island Life moves to 5:30pm
Friday Nights will see a new 90s Show hosted by Nicola Holt
In the football season – Friday Sport will be extended to an hour
Kim Quine will take over Saturday Breakfast from 6am
Saturdays will also see Carnaby Street starting half an hour earlier at 8am
Simon Clarke and Kirree Kermode will launch a new Saturday Sandwich from 10am
Paul Moran kicks off a high paced Saturday Live from 12–4pm
The Live Lounge with Christy moves to 4pm
Simon Quine will launch a new Indie Show at 6pm
Chris Quirk will get your Saturday night started with the Floor Fillers show at 8pm
Sunday mornings will now begin with Tom Cain hosting Sunday Daybreak

It's also launching a brand new station, Manx Radio Gold, which will be available online and on smart speakers.

The Breakfast show there will be hosted by Andy Wint, with the greatest hits playing 24/7.

Launching on the 29 June 1964, Manx Radio will be marking its 60th birthday when these changes come into force from 1 July.
