Douglas may soon have a second Tesco store.
The company has put forward proposals to open a Tesco Express store in the Strand Centre.
Plans for the new store are going on display at the Centre next Thursday, April 23, from 2pm to 7pm, where members of the public will also be able to discuss the proposals with members of Tesco's project team.
The Tesco Express will be in the former home of the Manx Electricity Authority at Unit 7 in the Centre which has stood empty since 2012.
The exhibition itself will be held in the empty unit and Corporate Affairs Manager Mark Thomas says they're looking forward to receiving local feedback from as many people as possible. He claims the new store would attract more people into that part of town and create 20 new jobs.
Tesco currently employs over 290 people at its superstore which is one of the chain's busiest.
