There’s been a new twist in the Langness footpath dispute.
Just a month after Tynwald voted to hold a public inquiry into the issue, Jeremy Clarkson has indicated he intends to go to court over the matter.
The Top Gear presenter (pictured) angered local ramblers when he closed a section of the path crossing his land at Langness, to protect his family's privacy.
A delegation, chaired by Michael MHK David Cannan, offered a compromise proposal but instead members called for an inquiry to establish the legal status of footpaths in the area.
However, Mr Cannan will this week ask colleagues for such an inquiry to be 'stayed' pending court action.
It’s reported Mr Clarkson's advocate has said court action would be highly likely, even if it followed a public inquiry.
