Work will include removal of former ticket office
The next phase of conservation and improvement works is underway at the Great Laxey Wheel, marking another important milestone in the ongoing programme to preserve and enhance one of the Isle of Man’s most iconic heritage attractions.
The work will include the removal of the former ticket office following the recent opening of the new Visitor Welcome Hub and shop.
Built in the 1980s the ticket office has welcomed over a million people during its lifetime.
Over the winter months Manx National Heritage will be refreshing the interpretation across the Laxey Wheel complex to complement the ongoing programme of conservation and improvements.
The Lady Isabella is one of the Island's most recognisable landmarks and an enduring symbol of its rich mining history.
