Comparison drawn between Isle of Man and Northern Ireland
The difficulties facing medical professionals and women when it comes to abortions in Northern Ireland have been outlined to Tynwald members.
A trio of academics who have produced a paper on the issue gave a talk yesterday afternoon.
They were invited to the Isle of Man by Ramsey MHK Dr Alex Allinson.
He's pushing for abortion law reform in the Isle of Man, and sees parallels between the situation here and in Northern Ireland.
One of the three who spoke is Dr Deirdre Duffy, who's a senior lecturer in social policy at Ulster University.
She agrees with Dr Allinson's sentiments:
