
Ronaldsway Airport’s director says no airline here has made any move to start charging passengers by how much they weigh.
But Ann Reynolds says she wouldn’t be surprised if yesterday’s announcement by Samoa Airlines caught on in the industry.
She says our airport would have problems accommodating weighing booths and she doubts people would want to be weighed in front of a queue of strangers at check-in.
But Miss Reynolds says weight is an important factor for any aircraft, particularly smaller planes:
