Only the second time this has happened since WW2
This year is the second, since racing resumed following the Second World War, in which there have been no competitor fatalities during both the Isle of Man TT and Manx Grand Prix.
The only other time was 1982.
Meanwhile, Manx Grand Prix competitor Garry Broughton is still being treated for injuries he suffered during a crash in qualifying almost a fortnight ago.
He was transferred to Aintree hospital - the latest reports are that he remains in a serious condition.
Speaking after this year's event, in which the final Classic TT race was cancelled due to poor course conditions, Clerk of the Course, Gary Thompson, says safety is his primary objective:
