Skelly responds to written question to Tynwald
The Department for Enterprise has not set aside any funds to financially support any teams directly, nor has it for spectators.
That's the response from MHK Laurence Skelly following a written question to Tynwald about reimbursement money for Rally Isle of Man.
The Department had previously offered financial support to the organisers however, this was not taken forward following its surprise cancellation.
Support was offered to marshals and officials who regularly travel to the Island for the event and booked through Rally Isle of Man's official travel agent.
The maximum amount currently available is £8,248.
This is to assist with their immediate difficulties and a gesture of goodwill in the hope that these key volunteers will not be put off should the rally go ahead in 2019.
