Ban from start of March to end of August
Landowners only have a few weeks to go to trim hedges ahead of the bird nesting season.
People are asked not to cut back hedges between the beginning of March and the end of August as they provide wildlife with food, shelter and breeding sites.
Hedgerows also provide homes for other creatures such as butterflies, lizards and hedgehogs.
People are asked to check for nests before doing any maintenance work during this month.
Nesting birds are legally protected and intentionally or recklessly destroying a nest, eggs or chicks could lead to a £10,000 fine.
