PSM committee chair on second report
The Chair of the Select Committee on Public Service Media says they have no desire to turn Manx Radio into a "state" broadcaster.
Dr Alex Allinson was speaking following the publication of their second report.
The six recommendations of the interim report from July are repeated, but five more recommendations are now being put forward including COMIN negotiating with the UK Government and the BBC regarding various funding options in relation to the BBC being involved in Manx Radio's operations.
However, Dr Allinson denied the intention of the report was for government to take more control of Manx Radio.
Charles Guard from the Manx Radio Board of Directors claims the recommendations in the report are "shocking".
