An attempt to shift the government’s audit division from the Treasury to the Clerk of Tynwald’s office has failed.
Yesterday (Thursday) in Tynwald, Onchan MHK Peter Karran asked the court to back his motion, claiming the move would give the internal audit division more independence.
However, he couldn't find enough support for the proposal, so the division will remain where it is.
After the debate, Mr Karran told Beth Espey it was an issue of transparency:
