
There's no need for the proposed landlord and tenant bill on the Island.
That's the belief of the Manx Landlord's Association, following a public consultation by government on legislation designed to improve standards and create a centralised register for private sector landlords to ensure they and their properties meet a set of minimum standards.
The consultation received 67 responses, despite there being around 7,000 landlords on the Island.
The MLA met on Wednesday night to discuss its response to the propsed bill.
Spokesman Steven Moore says they believe the consultation shows there's no overwhelming desire from landlords or tenants for the legislation:
