Government won't mark longest ever reign
The government says it has no plans to commemorate the Island’s longest-serving Lord of Mann later this year.
In a Tynwald question for written answer, West Douglas MHK Chris Thomas wanted to know if the Island would mark the occasion on September 9.
But Chief Minister Allan Bell says there are no plans for any celebration on the date The Queen becomes the longest serving British monarch.
He added the Isle of Man Post Office issued a commemorative stamp set in June and will issue a special edition on the day.
All churches on the Island will be having a special prayer for Her Majesty on this date; with majority also praying for The Queen every Sunday.
