But further policy development on prescriptions will be considered in 2026
The health department isn't bringing forward plans to change or introduce new prescription charges during this administration.
However, Health Minister Claire Christian says proposals to amend the regulations that define who is eligible for free prescriptions are due to be considered by the Council of Ministers next month.
As part of efforts to ensure the long-term sustainability of the Island's health and social care services, Minister Christian confirmed further policy development on prescription charges will be considered during 2026.
Responding to a Tynwald written question, the minister insists affordability remains a key focus when assessing potential changes.
