Case in question sub judice says Minister
The Health Minister says there is no policy for the mental health crisis team to refuse a request from police to attend an incident.
However, individual cases can be escalated to the on-call psychiatrist.
David Ashford was responding to a question from MLC David Cretney in which he referenced a specific case which had been reported in the media before Christmas.
Mr Ashford said whilst he was aware of the individual case being referred to by Mr Cretney, he was unable to go into specific detail as the case was currently in the courts and subject to sub judice.
