Footways need to be safe and accessible
The infrastructure minister says there is no scheme that allows householders to install cross pavement charging facilities.
In the House of Keys this morning (Tuesday 3 February), Arbory, Castletown and Malew MHK, Jason Moorhouse asked if the department was considering the charging facilities for electric vehicles.
Tim Crookall says the DOI is working with Manx Utilities on a strategic approach to both residential and public charging.
He adds according to the Highways Act 1986, footways need to be safe and accessible for everyone:
