A candidate seeking election to the Legislative Council admits he’s not surprised by yesterday’s second round stalemate.
Glenfaba MHK David Anderson came the closest to gaining the backing of his fellow members, securing 11 votes, but still fell two short.
Fresh nominations for the two vacant seats must now be submitted by June the fifth.
Speaker Steve Rodan had earlier announced he’d refer the Legislative Council election process to the standing orders committee.
In two ballots yesterday, 16 votes were not cast.
