
Economic Development Minister John Shimmin faced questions about the possible fate of the Nunnery today in the House of Keys.
He explained the Manx Education Foundation charity has until the end of January to raise £12.5 million in backing before it can buy the complex for £5 million later next year.
But Onchan MHK Peter Karran questioned why the deal hadn’t gone out to competitive tender, warning mistakes had been made on the site before.
