People seeking medical help for minor injuries are being asked not to use the accident and emergency department at Nobles Hospital.
Extremely high demand has forced hospital bosses to request patients to use the minor injuries unit at Ramsey Cottage Hospital instead.
No reason for the surge in patient numbers at Nobles has been given.
