Election scheduled for May 18th
Nominations will open tomorrow (Wednesday) to try and fill the vacancy on the Legislative Council.
It follows the decision of Tony Wild to retire on the grounds of ill health.
Nominations will be open until May the third with an election scheduled for Thursday, May the 18th at 2.30pm.
It will be the first contest since the House of Keys today (Tuesday) approved changes to Legislative Council election procedures.
A series of approved amendments means the vote of MHKs will now be known publicly, as opposed to a secret ballot, while a candidate will be successful as long as they receive a majority of the members voting.
