
The funeral of renowned Manx artist Norman Sayle will take place at St. George’s Church in Douglas at eleven thirty this morning (Wednesday).
Mr Sayle, who passed away last week at the age of 80, inspired generations of students during his long career at the Isle of Man College, spanning more than three decades.
He went on to become a prolific artist, painting landscapes both in the Island and the Mediterranean.
Only a fortnight ago, Mr Sayle received the first ever Tynwald Medal of Honour, for his outstanding contribution to Manx society.
Former Director of the British Museum Sir David Wilson, said he was a lifelong friend and a master of painting in watercolour:
