A little-known piece of the Isle of Man's aviation history is being commemorated by the Manx Heritage Foundation.
It has put up a plaque to mark the spot where Hall Caine Airport, near Ramsey, once stood, in the mid to late 1930s.
It was named after Sir Thomas Henry Hall Caine, a massively popular author during his lifetime, who loved the Island, lived in Greeba Castle, and even became an MHK.
The foundation's Charles Guard says even though Ronaldsway was operating back then it would have been important to have an airport in the north of the Island as well:
