Volunteers surprised at state of structure
A community group planning to restore the Queen's Pier in Ramsey says it's in a 'surprisingly good' condition.
The Queen's Pier Restoration Trust has gained approval to begin work on the site, once it secures a signed lease from government.
Despite having closed in 1990, volunteers hope the 130 year old structure can become a fully-functioning tourist attraction once again.
It's estimated the full restoration will take around five years, at a cost of £1.5 million.
