Leisure area in need of overhaul
The NSC pool will be closed for the next nine months, as it undergoes extensive refurbishment from next month.
Maintenance work planned for the swimming baths is set to cost £4.2 million, with much of the leisure area in need of complete replacement.
The Department of Education, Sport and Culture has received some criticism for the timing of the closure, coinciding with school holidays.
But Head of Sport and Recreation Paul Bridson points out the facility is now 20 years old:
