But DESC admits some work still needs completing
New water slides at the National Sports Centre in Douglas will open tomorrow – but there is still some work left to be completed.
The Department of Education, Sport and Culture has confirmed the new leisure pool and splash zone is ready to be unveiled to the public.
However it says 'some issues' were identified during the sign-off process – none of which affected safety.
The majority have been resolved and a timeframe has been agreed with the contractor for the remaining work to be finished.
The new facility was tested over the weekend by a number of children and members of the NSC swimming programme.
Minister Julie Edge says: "We are delighted that people will finally be able to take advantage of these wonderful facilities which are a great addition to the National Sports Centre."
The multi-million revamp project at the NSC was announced in 2017 with the flumes shutting in August 2018.
