That’s how the Economic Development Minister has described the decision to sell the £5 million government-owned Nunnery to create an IT training centre in Douglas.
Tynwald yesterday (Wed 19) approved selling the Estate - deemed surplus to requirements by government - to the Manx Educational Foundation.
The MEF will be a shareholder in the International Centre for Technology, a new private company backed by a number of Island firms and led by business director Philip Vermeulen.
Minister Laurence Skelly is confident the new venture will be an asset and further boost the Island’s fastest growing industry:
