It happened just after 8.30am
Just after 8.30am, as the amber warning for heavy rain was still in force, the Emergency Services Joint Control Room contracted the Specialist Water Rescue team in Ramsey to assist with the stranded vehicle in which the occupants were trapped inside.
Upon arrival, officers say the group managed to free themselves and took refuge on the vehicle's roof.
Weather warnings continue to be in force throughout the day. Garey Road in Lezayre is closed to traffic until 6pm due to flooding.
Motorists are urged to drive to the conditions.
