Offences allegedly carried out in December 2022
A couple from Douglas will stand trial in October after denying assaulting their child.
The man and woman – who can’t be named for legal reasons – have been accused of wilfully assaulting the child and common assault respectively.
The offences were allegedly carried out between 1 and 22 December 2022.
Reporting restrictions mean no details can be published which could identify the child involved.
The thee-day trial, which will take place in the Summary Court, is due to start on 30 October; they've been bailed until that date.
Update: At a court hearing on 18 July the man changed his plea to guilty. The prosecution offered no evidence against the woman and hte charge was dismissed. You can find the full details HERE.
