Requirement for all contractors to be trained by end of 2024
Construction Isle of Man has been working with the Department of Infrastructure to help the industry meet the requirement for all highways contractors to be trained in 'Streetworks' by the end of 2024.
UK based McCrae Training has teamed up with the body to bring the full range of accredited courses to the Island.
Previously no single provider could deliver all the required training locally.
Streetworks training focuses on the skills needed to carry out roadworks safely and efficiently.
This includes understanding regulations, using the correct equipment, implementing traffic management plans and working safely on the highway.
It's essential in ensuring roadworks are carried out with minimal disruption to the public and maximum safety for the workers involved.
