
A big exhibition in Douglas today aims to open the eyes of local residents to the huge variety of events, experiences and places to go in the Island, year-round.
Last year's On Your Doorstep event, the first time it was held, saw 1,800 people through the doors on one day.
Latest government figures show visitor spending rose 8.7 % in 2011 compared to the previous year, to around £98 million.
Visitor numbers were also up by almost 12,000, a rise of more than 4%, with growing numbers of friends and relatives of Manx residents taking breaks here.
On Your Doorstep is at the Villa Marina from 11am until 4pm today (Saturday) and is free.
