Commissioners to keep an eye on progress
Onchan Commissioners say they're open to new ideas - but won't be part of a new housing waiting list for the east of the Island.
Last week Garff and Braddan Commissioners announced they would combine forces and pool housing stock, offering potential tenants a greater choice of properties.
Several southern local authorities have already formed a joint list and a similar move is under way in the north.
The Department of Infrastructure supports the joined-up approach, as a more efficient way to allocate public sector homes.
However, Onchan has declined to put the housing it owns on a joint list, amid uncertainty about how the system will work.
