
Director of Highways Richard Pearson has responded to anger from Onchan business owners over the roadworks in the village.
Shop-owners claim the scheme, which has necessitated the complete closure of Main Road to traffic, has led to losses of up to 50% in some businesses.
Mr Pearson says he felt there was sufficient communication with businesses about their plans beforehand.
But he says he will do as much as possible in the remaining months to encourage shoppers to visit the village:
