Onchan Commissioners has created a new social housing strategy to support its operations over the next five years.
Vice-Chair Scott Wilson says the local authority is 'committed' to providing 'high quality and accessible' homes and believes the plan will provide direction and guidance.
There are currently 148 households on its waitlist, and it's hoped the strategy will support with the development of new social housing in the future.
Mr Wilson says the scheme will follow 'strategic objectives' which includes making best use of existing stock and supporting vulnerable residents.
It will also be reviewed annually by the commissioners to ensure it is continuing to reflect the needs of the village.
