A court has been told a 21 year-old Onchan man suffered multiple injuries in a car crash, including severe brain damage, from which he never recovered.
A verdict of accidental death was today (Wednesday) recorded at the inquest of Christopher James Heaney at Douglas courthouse.
Mr Heaney died last October, five weeks after an accident near the Creg-ny-Baa.
Coroner John Needham said Mr Heaney seemed to have made a mistake on his approach to a corner on the Mountain Road in poor visibility which caused him to crash into a stone wall.
He was described as a 'hard-working man with a heart of gold'.
