Rob Callister will be seeking a third term representing the constituency

One of the current MHKs for Onchan has announced his intention to stand in this year's House of Keys General Election.

Rob Callister is currently serving his second term representing the constituency.

In a statement announcing his candidacy, Mr Callister says: "For the past ten years, it has been a privilege to serve this proud constituency and the wider Manx community. As an MHK, I have always sought to be visible, hardworking, and approachable, with a clear focus on strengthening public services, supporting local jobs and businesses, and standing up for fairness, openness, and accountability in government.

"While it has not always been possible to deliver every outcome sought, it has never been for a lack of effort, determination, or willingness to challenge decisions on residents’ behalf. I look forward to engaging directly with constituents, listening to your concerns, and setting out a clear, credible vision for the next five years."

The public will head to the polls on Thursday 24 September.

Gabriella Corkish has also declared her intention to stand in Onchan.
