Callister doesn't want MLCs serving in more than one department
An Onchan MHK believes 'lines are being blurred' between the publicly elected members of the House of Keys and the Legislative Council.
Rob Callister is calling for Tynwald to reaffirm a previous resolution around members of LegCo and their duties.
In 2017 the court supported the idea that whilst members should continue to work in departments they shouldn’t take up more than one position.
Mr Callister says MLCs have ‘no accountability to the people of this Island’ for the decisions they are making:
Mr Callister will bring his concerns to the floor of Tynwald when the court sits on 16 April.
