Island passenger in Noble's Hospital
It’s been announced the Australian sidecar driver Dwight Beare was killed during this afternoon’s opening sidecar race.
The 27 year-old from Melbourne, who lived in Onchan, died following an accident near Rhencullen.
The race was immediately red flagged.
Beare made his TT debut in 2014, achieving a 12th place in only his second race when he competed with his father Noel as his passenger.
The pair returned to the TT last year, achieving a 17th place in the first sidecar race.
Dwight’s passenger Ben Binns, also from the Island, was airlifted to Nobles Hospital where he was described as being stable with a fractured ankle.
ACU Events Ltd is passing on its deepest sympathy to Dwight’s family and friends.
