Commissioners Chairman facing budgetary dilemma
The chairman of Onchan Commissioners says public opinion has been split over whether the board should invest in Groudle Glen.
Martin MacFarlane told Manx Radio he'd listened to the views of his constituents, about how the board should prioritise its budget spending.
MacFarlane's predecessor, Anthony Allen, previously announced Onchan rates were to be frozen for twelve months, from April this year.
Funding the redevelopment of the waterwheel in Groudle alone is estimated to cost ratepayers an additional £4.20 each, per year, for a decade.
