Increase of 50% compared to previous 12 months
Around one in every 80 students in the Island's schools has been referred for mental health support over the last 12 months.
The Department of Education, Sport and Culture's chief executive Graham Kinrade confirmed 147 referrals have been made over the last year - a rise of about 50 percent compared to the previous year.
With around 12,000 children attending Manx schools a Tynwald select committee said the figure raises alarm bells.
